Identity Follow-Up:

I believe I have a very big digital footprint, which may or may not be a good thing. I currently have a Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and I believe I still have a Tumblr account. I do think that it is important in today's educational world to have access to social media or social networking sites because I think that they can be used as educational tools. I also think that being familiar with the social mediums that our students use helps us to better understand and build a connections with them. As a professional educator I would love to use social media in my classroom. I want to create a class Facebook and Twitter page to use a mediums of class discussion. Both Facebook and Twitter would be great resources to use in a follow-up activity or as a means to ask for homework/test help. Students can also use Facebook to create a project page and post documents. I really liked the methods used by the USA Today principal because it really gave students, teachers, and parents access to different modes of communication.

I think that the time that I was most passionate about something was in Meg's class. I was really committed to learning what she had to teach us. I don't think that I have ever worked as hard in a class or participated as frequently as I did in ECI 306. I could tell that she was really passionate about reading and it was nice to finally meet someone who valued reading as much as I did and really had a vision for how to get students to value reading as well.

Comment: Nice job, Stephanie! I hope our work this semester has given you some concrete ways to think about how you can continue to craft your online professional identity, as well as ways you can integrate technology into your classroom in the future in meaningful ways. Best, Dr. Y
